1and1 web hosting and Zoho corporation have formed a cloud hosting solutions partnership. This partnership of the two companies will focus on launching the cloudhosting application “1&1 Online Office”.

Oliver Mauss, Chief-Executive-Officer of 1&1 Internet stated:

“Market experts and analysts expect rapidly increasing demand for cloud applications in the coming years. As an internationally operating hostingprovider, we see an extensive and lasting growth potential in this field. And we’d like to position ourselves in this segment at an early stage. With [Zoho Corporation], we have found a strong partner and productdeveloper who addresses the broad globalmarket from private users to medium-sized companies. Besides 1and1 Online Office, we can imagine adding other Zoho applications to our portfolio in the future”

1and1 OnlineOffice will first debut in Germany, then later in the United Kingdom some time in the first half of 2010. The 1&1 webhosting partnership will focus primarily on SMBs (small-to-mid-sized-businesses). But the companies also plan to target private commercial users for their offerings. Both corporations feel confident of offering the products across national boundaries.

We are eager to see this alliance grow.”

All that is needed to install the software locally will be a browser. The data is securely stored on 1and1 datacenters, for the convenience of the clientele to access from anywhere in the world, provided an internet connection.
